Job Summary – IB Mathematics Teacher (local)

 

We are seeking a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and student-centered IB Mathematics Teacher to join our Secondary School team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and rigorous mathematics instruction within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and a deep appreciation for mathematics.

The ideal candidate is committed to academic excellence, differentiated instruction, and creating an inclusive learning environment where students are challenged and supported to achieve their full potential. They will collaborate with colleagues to plan, assess, and continuously enhance the curriculum while contributing positively to the wider school community.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the IB Diploma Programme Mathematics curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Prepare students for internal and external IB assessments.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inquiry-based classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, moderation, and interdisciplinary learning.
  • Maintain accurate student records and communicate effectively with students, parents, and school leadership.
  • Participate actively in school events, professional development, and the broader life of the school.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching qualification/license with experience teaching Mathematics at the secondary level; IB Diploma Programme experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of the IB Mathematics curriculum and assessment practices, with the ability to deliver inquiry-based and differentiated instruction.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive, student-centered learning environment.
