Job Purpose

The Regional IT Infrastructure Administrator has a critical responsibility in maintaining the stability and security of an organisation's IT infrastructure. This role involves managing daily IT operations, ensuring stable infrastructure across cloud-based and on-premises systems, and actively identifying and resolving potential risks or issues to provide a reliable and robust IT environment.

Reporting to the Regional IT Infrastructure Manager, the Regional IT Infrastructure Administrator's duties include supporting IT infrastructure for schools. This includes overseeing daily operations like network management, system administration, incident management, security and compliance, technology upgrades, and proper documentation. The role also involves collaborating with other team members and providing support as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance Operational Efficiency: Ensure that the IT infrastructure and network systems at schools are properly supported and maintained, acting as the primary escalation point for the European region. This involves monitoring IT infrastructure performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards, and taking charge of incident and service management, coordinating with schools and other teams to resolve issues while communicating effectively with stakeholders.

  • Oversee IT Infrastructure Support: Supervise the support and operations of IT infrastructure, ensuring prompt resolution of issues, proactive maintenance, and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs). Serve as the main point of contact for escalated IT-related incidents, events, or requests, including servers, operating systems, LAN, WAN, VPNs, firewalls, cloud infrastructure, cloud telephony, cloud systems, identities, and automation processes.

  • Support IT Security and Compliance: Given the sensitive information handled by educational institutions, this role requires strict adherence to data protection regulations like GDPR. Responsibilities include promoting best practices in data privacy and security, implementing and enforcing security policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, conducting regular assessments to identify vulnerabilities, and supporting schools during security and compliance audits.

  • Ensure Data Accuracy and Integrity: The Regional IT Infrastructure Administrator is tasked with ensuring the accuracy and integrity of IT infrastructure, essential for regulatory compliance and optimal functionality. This involves implementing processes to maintain data accuracy across the organization, guiding and assisting school IT staff, and serving as a subject matter expert on IT infrastructure analysis and reporting. The role also includes providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making at both regional and organizational levels.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: By analyzing incident root causes, requests, and performance metrics, the Regional IT Infrastructure Administrator identifies opportunities for technology integration, workflow optimization, and best practice implementation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the schools' IT infrastructure. This involves developing and delivering training programs for school staff, staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends, and maintaining accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
