BCB HR Director Job Description
We’re looking to recruit a HR & Administrative Director to join our team at The British College of Brazil school, a Nord Anglia Education school.
The Human Resources Director (HRD) will utilize solid business acumen to partner with the management team regarding recruiting and retention, employee relations, payroll and benefits, and training and development. This position reports to the Head of School (and is part of the Extended Senior Leadership Team at the school and the Regional HR Leadership Team) and the Regional Human Resources Director. The HRD will be responsible of the HR functions at the school level and be an enabler of Nord Anglia culture and processes at the school. Engaging with the regional HR team to ensure alignment and effectiveness.

- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
- Bilingual English/Portuguese (fluent English essential)
- Minimum 4 to 5 years HR management well rounded experience- with experience in full employment cycle
- Must know HR laws and best practices in location
- Payroll experience.
- Understand reports and can produce data (monthly and as requested)
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for producing reports and presentations.
- Good cross-cultural, interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse nationalities and cultures.
- Excellent analytical skills – with the passion and drive to demonstrate and quantify success.
- Results orientated with the ability to consistently map efforts against identified KPIs.
- Excellent time management skills and flexibility in dealing with multi-functional tasks.
- Holds a current Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure or equivalent for countries lived in.
- Compliance with visa requirements for working in The Americas, you must have either a Brazilian, British or American passport or be authorized to work in Brazil for any employer.
- It is a full time position at the school facilities – there is no virtual/remote option.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils. And the willingness to undertake appropriate child protection training when required.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Human Resources or relevant field
- Fluent English Essential (reading, writing and speaking)
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience as HR manager or HR business partner, with demonstrated experience counselling and supporting international assignees and other complex employee relations, and payroll
- Minimum 4 to 5 years HR generalist/manager experience.
- Must know HR laws and best practices
- PHR or SHRM certification preferred
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for producing reports and presentations.
- Good cross-cultural, interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse nationalities and cultures.
- Excellent analytical skills – with the passion and drive to demonstrate and quantify success, through delivering and producing reports and analysing these to improve school performance.
- Results orientated with the ability to consistently map efforts against identified KPIs.
- Excellent time management skills and flexibility in dealing with multi-functional tasks.
- You’d like to work in a purpose-led sector.
- Preferred work experience in a school/educational setting.
- Working knowledge of visas and international assignees preferred.
