What You'll Do

Avenues students will graduate fluent in a second language and at ease beyond their borders. To this end, in grades N-1 students will be in a full English immersion program and from grades 2-5, Portuguese will take on a prominent place in the classroom. As an Associate Teacher at Avenues you will:

Support lead teachers to develop and teach curriculum across multiple subjects that engages all learners in meaningful, challenging work that cultivates 21st-century skills
Help ensure that all students achieve key learning outcomes for the grade level, targeting instruction thoughtfully to address individual needs
Build a robust learning atmosphere that leads students to value being at school and feel part of a rigorous but joyful learning community
Collaborate intensively and daily with colleagues to continually improve student learning and school culture
Participate actively in ongoing, intensive professional learning

What You'll Bring

Student teaching, teacher training or equivalent experience with children ages 2-4
Deep dedication to learning and developing the craft of teaching
Highly effective collaborator, eager to listen deeply, contribute to a team and achieve goals together

Bachelor’s degree required in Education, Teaching or related field
