NACIS Shanghai is looking to recruit a University Guidance Counsellor Leader, to lead the strong University Guidance Counselling (UGC) team.

You will benefit our students and people, through our programmes such as the Global Campus, Nord Anglia University, and our collaborations with The Juilliard School, MIT, UNICEF, IMG and King’s College London.
THE SCHOOL
Founded in September 2016, NACIS Shanghai offers students a creative, challenging and rewarding learning experience. Students aged 6 to 18 years old are welcomed into our progressive and internationally minded school community. We offer a distinctive bilingual, blended learning programme leading to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Located in the Minhang District of Shanghai, the school has world class facilities that complement our innovative approach.
Our staff are from 10 different countries with significant numbers of colleagues from China, the UK, Ireland and North America.
The role:
We seek an excellent and experienced University Guidance Counselling Leader to join where your focus will be:
- Utilize in-depth knowledge and analysis of the application process for prestigious universities in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, and other countries to provide comprehensive university guidance for students.
- Lead the University Guidance Counseling (UGC) team and cultivate strong relationships with university admissions tutors and representatives.
- Collaborate with students, parents, and the team to deliver personalized university guidance and support students in achieving their college aspirations.
- Oversee the implementation of the University Guidance program, ensuring it meets objectives and sets a high standard.
- Coordinate with IB and A-level teachers to align the programs with college preparatory work.
- To oversee careers events EG: visiting speakers, university fairs, careers conventions to make students aware of the many possibilities and opportunities available
- Drive the development of the NACIS Challenge program in the secondary division to nurture the growth of gifted and talented students.
- To actively contribute to wider school development and growth.
The Successful Candidate will possess:
- Hold a recognised qualification and/or considerable experience as a University Guidance Counsellor.
- Held a leadership post for a minimum of two years.
- Ability to teach associated content skills including research and PSHE.
- Knowledgeable of world class curriculums including IBDP and International curriculums and associated assessment methods.
- Understanding of effective teaching and learning theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all learners through organization, differentiation and learning strategies.
- People management skills.

About you
Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students. You will be able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment as well as meet visa-related restrictions for China, including a bachelor degree, non-criminal background check and at least 24 months of teaching experiences.
