Job Description

We are currently looking for an exceptional Early Years Assistant from August 2026. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible, as applications will be processed on a rolling basis. Key Responsabilities

 

Classroom Responsibilities (80%)

  • Support the teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment aligned with IB PYP philosophy

  • Assist in the preparation and organization of learning materials and classroom resources

  • Support students during inquiry-based learning activities

  • Work with individuals or small groups of students to reinforce learning

  • Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and daily organization

  • Support students’ social, emotional, and physical development

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment

  • Supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities


Team Responsibilities (15%)

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and colleagues to support student learning

  • Participate in team meetings and professional discussions when required

  • Support the implementation of classroom and school initiatives


School-wide Responsibilities (5%)

  • Support supervision duties (arrival, dismissal, break times, lunch, etc.)

  • Contribute positively to the school community

  • Follow school safeguarding and wellbeing policies

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education, Education, or related field (or currently working toward one)

  • Experience working with young children (ages 2–6) in an educational setting preferred

  • Right to work in Italy (EU passport or valid work visa)

  • Clean and satisfactory police background checks

  • Good level of English (minimum CEFR level B2; C1 preferred)


Experience and Skills

  • Previous experience supporting teaching and learning in an Early Years or primary school environment preferred

  • Understanding of child development and early learning principles

  • Familiarity with inquiry-based learning and the IB PYP framework is an advantage

  • Ability to support diverse learners and contribute to an inclusive learning environment

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

  • Basic digital literacy and willingness to use educational technologies
