Job Description
The IT Manager leads the technological strategy and operations of H-Farm School, ensuring that systems, networks and digital tools effectively support teaching, learning and administrative excellence. The role acts as a strategic business partner to school and regional leadership, driving innovation, strengthening cybersecurity, and ensuring alignment with Nord Anglia Education’s digital vision. The IT Manager oversees the IT team, manages projects and budgets, coordinates with external suppliers and ensures that all technology services are reliable, secure and future-ready.
The role provides strategic direction for the school’s IT function by aligning technology initiatives with educational objectives and regional standards. The IT Manager recommends and implements investments that enhance efficiency, innovation and long-term value, while ensuring that the needs of all departments are captured, prioritised and delivered. Budget responsibilities include forecasting, planning and managing IT expenditure, identifying opportunities for cost savings and ensuring quality service delivery across the schools.
The IT Manager leads IT projects from planning to implementation, ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes. Collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors is essential to ensure that all projects support the school’s educational and operational priorities. Strong partnership with academic and administrative teams helps drive technology adoption and integration, while ongoing collaboration with Regional and Central IT ensures alignment with Nord Anglia’s global standards.

The role manages vendor relationships, oversees contract compliance and monitors performance to ensure cost-effective and reliable service delivery. Operationally, the IT Manager is responsible for the performance, security and reliability of all IT systems, networks and infrastructure. The role ensures that the IT team responds efficiently to incidents, minimises service disruptions and provides strong support during key school processes such as student onboarding and major events.
Cybersecurity and compliance are fundamental responsibilities. The IT Manager safeguards systems and data, ensures adherence to local regulations and Nord Anglia policies and implements best practices in data protection. The role monitors IT performance through KPIs and service reporting and drives continuous improvement across all IT operations.
This role is ideal for a strategic IT leader who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. The IT Manager thrives in a collaborative and innovative environment and is passionate about using technology to enhance educational impact. Success requires a proactive mindset, analytical thinking, strong leadership capabilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications typically include a diploma or degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a minimum of five years of experience in IT management. Experience managing Microsoft 365, Windows Server and Azure AD environments is essential, along with strong knowledge of LAN and WAN infrastructure and current cybersecurity standards. Project management experience, vendor management, budget oversight and experience leading IT teams are important. Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, Microsoft or Cisco are preferred.
