About the role
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Head of Primary will provide inspirational, strategic and operational leadership to the Primary School. You will lead and develop a high-performing team to ensure outstanding academic, personal, and social outcomes for all students within a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
You will have responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the Primary School, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning, effective staff deployment, and robust systems for performance management and professional development. Working closely with colleagues across the school, you will foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
The successful candidate will play a significant role in shaping and delivering the school’s vision, ensuring that BSY’s mission, values and commitment to holistic education are embedded in all aspects of Primary provision. You will champion high-quality curriculum design, assessment and pastoral care, placing student wellbeing, inclusion and safeguarding at the heart of decision-making.

Established in 2014, The British School Yangon (BSY) is the leading British curriculum school in Myanmar. About you
With the ability to drive excellence by valuing and developing others, you will be a qualified teacher with extensive experience of both hands-on teaching and management in education. This means you will be fully up to date with curriculum developments. Strong on leadership and people management, you will have a flair for setting and meeting challenging performance targets.
Able to work with a high degree of cultural sensitivity in our changing and fast-paced international environment, you will have the ability to use a range of communication strategies and channels. Your strong commercial, financial, market, and organisational awareness will enable you to devise effective solutions to complex business challenges.
A strong ambassador for the school, you will be able to develop new ways to engage students and parents with the wider school and Nord Anglia Education community. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for Yangon, Myanmar including you must hold a bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate relevant with this post.

Selection process
The closing date for applications is Friday 30th January, however early applications are encouraged. There will be three stages of interview, including a panel interview.
