100% – 2-year contract – August 2025

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the teaching of French across Early Years and Primary levels.
• Oversee French curricula for both first language (Language A) and second language (Language B) learners.
• Foster a dynamic language-learning environment that promotes engagement and high achievement.
• Teach French as both a first and foreign language, ensuring lessons are engaging and effective.
• Mentor and support a team of French teachers, conducting and facilitating lesson observations, drop-ins, and professional development initiatives.
• Monitor student progress through assessment frameworks and targeted interventions.
• Facilitate and support the organisation of extracurricular activities, educational trips, and cultural events that promote French language and culture.
• Collaborate with the Primary Leadership Team to ensure alignment with school-wide educational goals.
• Engage with parents and senior leadership regarding student progress and curriculum development.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in French, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
• Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent).
• Experience in curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation.
• Proven leadership experience, ideally as a Head of Department or similar role.
• Strong teaching experience across different age groups, with an understanding of bilingual and immersion teaching approaches.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learning needs.
• Proficiency in English is an advantage.
• Proficiency in integrating technology into language instruction.
• A passion for promoting French language and culture within an international school setting.
• A collaborative, innovative, and student-centered approach to education.
