Computer Science Teacher
Bangkok, TH
St Andrews International School Bangkok is one of 88 schools in the Nord Anglia Education (NAE) family. We offer a British educational curriculum with an international perspective that begins in Nursery and leads up to IGCSE examinations in Year 11, and culminates with the International Baccalaureate Diploma after completing Year 13. We are an inclusive school that invites children from all backgrounds and abilities to participate in the educational offerings on our diverse campus.
Founded in 1997 on an attractive, conveniently located site, with excellent facilities and access to local transportation. Today we have more than 2,400 students over a Primary School and High School campus, representing some 68 nationalities ranging from Foundation Stage to Year 13. Our state-of-the-art High School campus (next to Ekkamai BTS) opened in August 2017 giving our students the benefit of world-class teaching and facilities.
As part of the NAE family of schools, we are delighted to be able to offer some unique collaborations with world-class establishments, including the Juilliard School of Performing Arts, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and UNICEF.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Technology is a popular area of study throughout the High School, and we are looking for an experienced and inspiring teacher to join the team. Class sizes are small and the students are motivated and enthusiastic, enjoying a lively approach to the subject through a wide range of teaching and learning techniques. The ideal candidate will convey enthusiasm for the subject and contribute collaboratively in the continued development of the curriculum from Year 7 to Year 13.
All students study Technology in Key Stage 3 as part of our integrated Technology course, with students having two lessons each week and covering topics and skills from Design Technology, ICT and Computing Science. Computer Science, Design Technology: Resistant Materials and Design Technology: Systems and Control are all popular, and growing, subjects in Key Stage 4 and many students then go on to study Computer Studies or Design Technology as part of the IB Diploma Programme. Previous experience teaching IGCSE and/or IB Diploma Programme Computer Studies would be a significant advantage, as well as a commitment to, and experience of, more holistic, STEAM approaches in Key Stage 3.
At St Andrews, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive school, and have an excellent reputation for supporting children with special educational needs. Experience of teaching children with dyslexia, mild autism, ADHD etc. would be very good prior experience for a teacher wishing to join our team. Our Mission Statement commits us to meeting ‘all the needs of the individual learner’, and this applies equally to those students targeting the very highest grades at IGCSE and IB.
As well as their teaching, all teachers are also expected to contribute positively to both the school’s pastoral systems and the extra-curricular programme, offering an Extra-Curricular Activity that either supports or extends the students’ learning in their subject area, or from another area of personal interest.
Inspiring Learning and Development:
As a teacher at St. Andrews, you will nurture the academic and personal growth of your class, adapting teaching methods to meet the individual needs, abilities, and interests of each student. Staying informed on current educational practices, you’ll bring fresh approaches to our curriculum and provide regular, meaningful feedback to parents. Collaborative planning is central to our approach, and you’ll work closely with colleagues and Heads of Phase to design cohesive learning experiences for students.
Collaborating as a Professional Team Member:
Being part of our team means embracing shared goals and contributing positively to our school community. You’ll implement assessment and reporting protocols with integrity and accuracy, supervise students during designated times, and support curriculum development through regular meetings and professional development sessions. Working closely with fellow teachers, you’ll ensure a consistent, high-quality learning environment across classes and year groups.
Professional Development
We prioritise professional growth, offering access to Nord Anglia University’s CPD platform and encouraging collaboration through Professional Learning Communities, Triads, and WalkThrus. With leadership and Masters programme opportunities, we support our teachers in their journey to become lifelong learners.
Building a Welcoming School Community:
Our school is a dynamic environment that encourages curiosity and engagement. As an educator, you’ll make classrooms and shared spaces inviting and stimulating, helping children feel excited to learn and participate. You’ll engage weekly in extracurricular activities, represent the school in the local and international community, and champion our House system by supporting House events.
