Counselling Assistant

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced full-time Counselling Assistant who shares our commitment to providing a nurturing, inspiring, and inclusive educational journey for every student. Join us in creating a positive, lasting impact.

What You’ll Do:

• Providing services related to counseling services to high school students
• Supporting administrative tasks for counselling team
• Collaborating with Learning Support and Counseling teams, liaising with school staff on student referrals
• Supporting school counsellors in developing and implementing high school counselling service policies and procedures while maintaining accurate and confidential records.
• Monitor and report on student progress
• Participate in school meetings, professional development, and events as required

Who We’re Looking For:

• Degree in Psychology or related field, open to newly graduates
• Experience working with children, preferably in an international or bilingual school is a plus 
• English skills is essential
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude toward student development
• Team player with the ability to follow instructions and also take initiative
• Understanding of cultural diversity and inclusive practices

Counselling Assistant provides counselling services to students, acts as a consultant to parents, teachers, and administrators, and engages the school community in workshops and training to raise awareness of mental well-being. They build relationships with the school community, provide short-term individual and group counselling, communicate with families and outside professionals, assist in social-emotional testing, participate in student support and parent-teacher meetings, support the counselling team’s administrative task. 

The role requires strong communication and crisis response skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload and administrative skills. You will be trustworthy and collaborative, with a positive, solution-focused mindset, and capable of working independently while receiving supervision. You should also have experience liaising with school staff, developing and implementing policies, and maintaining confidential records and administrative systems.
