Design and Technology and STEAM Teacher
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Design and Technology and STEAM Teacher who shares our commitment to providing a nurturing, inspiring, and inclusive educational journey for every student. Join us in creating a positive, lasting impact as we empower the next generation of global problem-solvers.
Design and Technology and STEAM are popular areas of study at St Andrews. As a Nord Anglia Education school, we benefit from a unique collaboration with MIT, which brings a world-class, university-level approach to our STEAM curriculum. We are looking for an inspiring teacher to join this forward-thinking team. Class sizes are small, and students are motivated and enthusiastic, enjoying a lively, hands-on approach to learning through a wide range of teaching and learning techniques.
At St Andrews International School Bangkok, we believe knowing each child is at the heart of effective education. Our classrooms are warm, engaging spaces where students feel supported to explore, learn, and grow. Our teachers bring this vision to life through creativity, dedication, and commitment to each child’s unique journey.
As a Design and Technology and STEAM Teacher at St Andrews, you will nurture the academic and personal growth of your students, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs, abilities, and interests. Through our MIT collaboration, you will have access to cutting-edge professional development and global "in-school" challenges that bring fresh approaches to the curriculum. Collaborative planning is central to our approach, and you will work closely with colleagues and Heads of Subject to design cohesive learning experiences.
All students study Technology in Key Stage 3 as part of our integrated course which incorporates STEAM, Design and Technology, Computer Science and Robotics. Students have two lessons per week, covering a diverse range of skills and concepts delivered through a Project-Based Learning approach.
In Key Stage 4, students study Design and Technology, which incorporates Resistant Materials, Systems and Control, and Product Design. It is a popular and growing subject, with many students continuing their studies through into the IB Programme. Previous experience teaching one or more of these areas would be an advantage but is not essential, alongside a commitment to holistic STEAM approaches at Key Stage 3.
We welcome applications from teachers new to the profession, for whom we offer DfE ECF-based training for Early Career Teachers (ECTs), as well as from experienced teachers.
