St Andrews International School Bangkok is one of 88 schools in the Nord Anglia Education (NAE) family. ABOUT THE ROLE
St Andrews International School Bangkok is an inclusive school where teachers know their students well. Our community reflects a wide range of needs, including students in Early Years and Primary who require support to access the UK curriculum.
The Learning Support Teacher assesses needs and develops targeted programmes. Working alongside class teachers, the role reinforces classroom learning and enables students to access the curriculum fully. The postholder is a specialist within the Learning Support team and reports to the Director of Whole School Learning Support and Primary Learning Support Coordinators.
Purpose
Work with Primary Learning Support Coordinators to ensure appropriate provision for students on the Learning Support register. Deliver lessons for students with ADHD, Dyslexia and Dysgraphia. Report to the relevant Learning Support Coordinator, Director of Whole School Learning Support and Heads of Phase.
Responsibilities
Use appropriate teaching strategies aligned to age and ability. Deliver literacy, numeracy and phonics interventions. Support classroom teachers collaboratively. Implement assessment and reporting procedures. Maintain accurate records. Meet parents and provide reports. Lead Learning Support Assistants. Contribute to professional development. Act as a school ambassador.
Whole School Contribution
Promote a welcoming environment. Participate in one extracurricular activity weekly. Attend residential trips as directed. Supervise students as assigned. Support promotional activities and organise one House activity annually.
Additional Responsibilities
Observe and assess referred students. Deliver targeted in-class, small group or one-to-one interventions. Attend planning meetings and liaise with parents and teachers. Prepare and review ILHPs with specialists. Act as key worker for assigned students.
Experience supporting students with ADHD, mild autism and dyslexia is advantageous.
