Occupational Therapist 
St Andrews Bangkok is an international school committed to fully inclusive education. In addition to mainstream learners, we support children with Special Educational Needs (SEND), Speech and Communication Difficulties, Delays, and children in need of Social and Emotional support. We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and collaborative professional with relevant experience and qualifications in Occupational Therapy to join our dynamic transdisciplinary team within the High School’s Embracing Differences Department.

The Successful Candidate Will:

As a qualified Thai Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing and providing individual and small group Occupational Therapy sessions for students aged 11+ in our Embracing Differences High Needs department. This role also involves integrating strategies and activities into classroom experiences for students with learning disabilities, helping them access and engage with mainstream curriculum opportunities where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and provide therapy for students with speech, language, communication challenges, and specific learning difficulties such as Asperger’s Syndrome, ADHD, and Down's Syndrome.
  • Work with students with physical disabilities and those with psychological, emotional, and social disabilities.
  • Use a variety of tools and assessments to evaluate children’s Occupational Therapy needs, and provide formal reports and recommendations for families and professionals as needed.
  • Collaborate with families and staff to empower them to support children’s Occupational Therapy needs.
  • Knowledge of specialist equipment and software is beneficial.

The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate:

  • A commitment to working with children across both mainstream and special education programs (Embracing Differences).
  • Well-planned therapy sessions based on assessment results and student targets, with thorough documentation.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with parents, teachers, learning support staff, educational psychologists, and other therapists.
  • Creative thinking and innovation in designing and implementing specialized educational programs.
  • Sensitivity and confidence when working with parents on various issues regarding their child’s progress and needs.
  • Willingness to structure and manage safe, stimulating, and individualized learning environments.
  • Flexibility to respond to the needs of children, adapting plans accordingly.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or a relevant field and a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
  • Experience in assessing and providing Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience in both mainstream and special school settings.
  • Proven positive behavior management skills.
  • Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy practices and methodologies.
