Physical Education (PE) Teaching Assistant

The role of the PE Teaching Assistant is to support individual students, the teacher and/or the class in the teaching of Physical Education, under the supervision of a PE teacher.  This position will also include teaching small groups of children and supporting the gymnastics ECA programme. 

The PE Teaching Assistant has responsibility to:

  • Support the main class teacher in the delivery of the lesson.

  • Work with individuals or small groups of students. 

  • Cover lessons with support when needed.

  • Set up and sort equipment.

  • Attend school sports trips.

  • Attend  school sports fixtures, events and tournaments. 

  • Support the sports administration team during busy periods.

  • Run morning, lunchtime clubs or support teachers running these clubs.

Hours and Coaching Pay

Any work outside of the working hours of 7:00-15:45 Monday to Friday,  will be paid through our STA coaching model. This includes ECA’s, weekend coaching, holiday camps, STA sporting events and competition days.
