Primary Year Leader
At St Andrews, we believe that every year group thrives under excellent leadership and organisation, which is why the Year Leader role is pivotal in ensuring smooth daily operations and an enriching educational experience. This position is complemented by the responsibilities of a class teacher, offering an opportunity to inspire and lead within the school community.
This role is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the students and staff in your year group while growing as a leader in a dynamic and supportive environment. If you’re ready to bring energy, vision, and a passion for education to our school, we’d love to hear from you!

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Primary School Year Leader, you will oversee the coordination and development of your year group, ensuring all planning, teaching, and learning align with the school’s vision and goals. This includes guiding your team of teachers to deliver a cohesive and dynamic curriculum while supporting students in their academic and personal growth.
In return, we offer a monthly responsibility allowance of 22,000 Baht, alongside your teacher’s salary, recognising the additional contributions you bring to the role.

Planning and Curriculum
Your role includes leading the planning process for your year group, from weekly meetings to long-term curriculum development. Working closely with EAL and Learning Support teachers, you’ll ensure that every child’s needs are met through thoughtful, inclusive lesson planning. Supporting the development of adaptive teaching approaches and embedding assistive technology as a normal way of working. You’ll also guide your team to regularly review and refine the curriculum in collaboration with subject coordinators.

Supporting Student Progress
You’ll play an active role in tracking and supporting student progress. By analysing assessment data, you’ll identify students requiring additional support and work with learning support staff to implement interventions. With your guidance, the year group will foster an environment where every child has the opportunity to excel.

Communication and Parental Engagement
As a Year Leader, you will oversee communications with parents, ensuring they are well-informed and feel supported. From leading the creation of curriculum updates to being a point of contact for more complex concerns, you’ll build strong partnerships between home and school.

Pastoral and Behavioural Leadership
You’ll support your year group in fostering a positive and respectful environment. While class teachers handle most behaviour management, you’ll offer guidance and collaborate with the Head of Phase when necessary.

Induction and Team Support
Helping new staff feel at home is an essential part of your role. You’ll ensure they are equipped with the resources, knowledge, and support they need to succeed. Acting as a mentor, you’ll answer questions and provide guidance on day-to-day matters.

Reporting and Assessment
You’ll guide your team through the reporting process, ensuring high standards in tone, accuracy, and completion. By reviewing reports and liaising with the Head of Phase, you’ll contribute to maintaining clear and effective communication with families.

Collaborative Leadership
As part of the Year Leaders Team, you’ll work closely with colleagues across year groups and subjects, the EAL and Learning Support Departments, to ensure continuity and progression in teaching and learning. Regular meetings, planning reviews, and discussions about student work will provide opportunities to shape the school’s future and drive improvement.

Day-to-Day Organisation
From organising school trips to coordinating assemblies and timetables, your leadership ensures that the year group runs smoothly. You’ll be a central figure in managing events like International Day and Fun Day, liaising with colleagues and ensuring everything is well-prepared.
