St Andrews International School Bangkok is one of 88 schools in the Nord Anglia Education (NAE) family. ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Psychology Teacher, with interest and experience in supporting students' Higher Education applications process, and who shares our commitment to providing a nurturing, inspiring, and inclusive educational journey for every student. Join us in creating a positive, lasting impact. 

Psychology is a popular and well-established subject at St Andrews and our Careers and Higher Education department is a core element of our student support services  We are looking for an inspiring teacher to join the team. Class sizes are small and the students are motivated and enthusiastic, enjoying a lively approach to the subject through a wide range of teaching and learning techniques

Inspiring Learning and Development:
As a teacher at St Andrews, you will nurture the academic and personal growth of your class, adapting teaching methods to meet the individual needs, abilities, and interests of each student. Staying informed on current educational practices, you’ll bring fresh approaches to our curriculum and provide regular, meaningful feedback to parents. Collaborative planning is central to our approach, and you’ll work closely with colleagues and Heads of Subject to design cohesive learning experiences for students.

Psychology is offered to students following Key Stage 5, where all students following the IB Diploma Programme must study at least one Humanities subject, with IB Psychology being a very popular choice.

We offer an inclusive education and our students follow a range of pathways to graduation, which includes International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme, International BTEC’s as well as school based programmes. Being flexible and proactive is essential. Previous experience providing specialist counselling support for Oxbridge, Medicine and Ivy League applicants is advantageous.

Our Careers and Higher Education team have a range of responsibilities and work collaboratively and supportively together to achieve them. This includes developing a strategy for information on higher education guidance with good information and communication strategies of advice to teachers, students, and parents. They are responsible for the university applications process, ensuring the quality of all applications.  They work closely with Heads of Year and Tutors to ensure that all students in the high school have a progressive program of careers and higher education guidance. This will be achieved through the Wellbeing and Academic Development programs, and through a planned program of careers and university guidance activities. 

Our counsellors plan and deliver events focused on careers and higher education including group sessions, workshops, and presentations for parents and staff. Working in this team you will help maintain communication with university representatives, oversee resources for students, and provide timely and accurate data on school leavers' destinations.

The ability to demonstrate experience of working in an international school setting, advising students on higher education choices, as a careers adviser or college counsellor.
