Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Planning and Developing Educational Activities:

   - Design and implement educational activities tailored to the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development of 3 - 5 year old children.  
   - Follow the objectives and guidelines of the early childhood education curriculum.  
   - Promote learning through play, music, art, and sensory exploration.

2. Creating a Safe and Stimulating Environment:

   - Ensure an inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment that fosters confidence and autonomy.  
   - Supervise children during all activities to ensure their safety and well-being.

3. Promoting Holistic Development:

   - Support the development of motor skills, language, and socialization.  
   - Identify and respond to the individual needs of each child, respecting their learning pace.

4. Collaboration with Families:

   - Maintain regular and effective communication with parents or guardians to inform them about the progress and well-being of their children.  
   - Provide guidance and support on topics related to child development.

5. Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

   - Observe, document, and evaluate the development and behavior of children.  
   - Adjust activities and teaching strategies based on observed needs.

6. Teamwork:

   - Collaborate with other teachers and staff to coordinate activities and share best practices.  
   - Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and school events.

7. Personal and Professional Development:

   - Stay updated on educational methodologies and teaching strategies in early childhood education.  
   - Engage in continuous professional development programs.

8. Promoting Values and Social Skills:

   - Encourage empathy, respect, teamwork, and conflict resolution among children.  
   - Develop routines that include values such as order, responsibility, and coexistence.

Qualifications/Training

At least one year as an Early Years teacher (Essential)
Personal commitment to continuing professional development (Essential)
English – Native (Essential)
A relevant degree or teaching qualification (Essential)

 

Experience / Knowledge

Minimum 2 years teaching experience (Essential)
English (native level) (Essential)
The monitoring, assessment, recording, and reporting of pupils' progress (Essential)
The requirements of a class teacher to adhere to all school policies, particularly those pertaining to Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, and Child Protection (Essential)
Effective teaching and learning styles (Essential)
The theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all children, e.g., classroom organization and learning strategies (Essential)
Working in partnership with parents (Essential)
