Core Requirements

 

Hamelin-Laie International School Barcelona is seeking an experienced and dynamic School Management Information Systems and Data Lead to lead the successful implementation and management of various IT systems, including but not limited to ISams, Cpoms, Success Factors, Sphera, Reach, Epraise, School Buddy, etc. The ideal candidate will be responsible for effective management, integration, and strategic development of the school's educational information systems. In daddition, optimization of these systems to enhance operational efficiency and support the school's strategic objectives.

 

Additionally, will be tasked with providing comprehensive staff training, ensuring successful execution with all stakeholders, including students, parents, staff, teachers, and leaders, maintaining confidentiality, demonstrating cultural sensitivity, and fostering successful relationships with the regional team. This role ensures data integrity, supports teaching and learning through technology, and enables informed decision-making across the school

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  1. Systems Management and Integration
    Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and optimal performance of the school’s core systems, including the Management Information System (MIS), Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), Room Booking System, and Parents’ Evening Booking System.
    Ensure seamless integration and synchronization between all systems.
    Act as the primary liaison with external system providers and support services.

  2. Data Management and Integrity
    Manage and maintain accurate student, staff, and curriculum data across all platforms.
    Create and update teaching sets within the MIS and VLE.
    Ensure data consistency across integrated systems.
    Support compliance with data reporting requirements.

  3. Timetabling and Curriculum Support
    Lead the development of the school timetable in line with curriculum requirements set by the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
    Analyse student option choices and staffing needs to determine teaching group structures.
    Implement and maintain the timetable within the MIS.

  4. Reporting and Analytics
    Produce statutory and internal reports, including annual statistics for Spanish educational authorities in collaboration with IT, HR, and Operations.
    Provide data for NAE report cards covering academic performance and staffing.
    Maintain and develop Power BI dashboards for Hamelin and NAE reporting.
    Provide data insights to support strategic decision-making.

  5. Assessment Systems Management
    Coordinate and manage external assessment platforms, including MAP testing and CEM assessments.
    Ensure accurate rostering and data handling for all assessments.

  6. User Support and Training
    Provide support and guidance to teaching and administrative staff in the effective use of school systems.
    Deliver training where required to improve system adoption and efficiency.
    Troubleshoot system issues and escalate when necessary.

  7. Application Administration
    Manage user accounts and system access, including CPOMS and other educational applications.
    Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of educational software.
    Continuously review systems to improve efficiency, usability, and alignment with school needs.

 

Additional Responsibilities


Contribute to whole-school digital strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure systems support safeguarding, academic tracking, and operational efficiency.
Undertake other duties as reasonably required by the school.

 

Skills, knowledge and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Education, Information Systems, Data Management, Business Administration or similar).
  • Proven experience managing information systems and data within an educational or similarly complex organisational environment.
  • Strong understanding of school management information systems (MIS), learning platforms (VLE), and educational applications, with the ability to manage and optimise their use to support teaching and learning.
  • Experience in timetabling and curriculum planning processes, including data analysis to support student options, staffing, and resource allocation.
  • High level of data literacy, including data validation, analysis, and reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Experience producing reports for internal stakeholders and external bodies (e.g. inspections, regulatory authorities, or group-level reporting).
  • Familiarity with data visualisation and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI) to present insights clearly and effectively.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic school environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and train both teaching and administrative staff.
  • Solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with external providers and support services.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive data.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English essential; Catalan desirable.
