Job Description

Job Title: Secondary Chemistry Teacher – IB (MYP/DP) - Maternity Cover

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Secondary Chemistry Teacher to teach the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and/or Diploma Programme (DP). The candidate should be passionate about science education and committed to delivering engaging, inquiry-based learning aligned with IB standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver Chemistry lessons as per IB MYP/DP curriculum

  • Prepare lesson plans, practical lab sessions, and assessments in line with IB guidelines

  • Encourage scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback

  • Maintain lab safety standards and proper documentation

  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and school activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Chemistry or related field

  • IB teaching experience preferred (MYP/DP)

  • Strong subject knowledge and laboratory management skills

  • Good communication and classroom management abilities
