Job Description
- Undertake playtime duties as required.
- Support teachers or year group teams with operational and administrative tasks.
- Take responsibility for an operational aspect of the school (e.g.stock cupboard, resources room, lost property).
- Support students during gym/skate/swim sessions.
- Be involved, under the guidance of the teacher, with outside agencies such as speech therapists, or educational psychologists. This involvement can range from helping with the administrative arrangements to assisting pupils perform tasks set by the specialist.
- Liaise with parents/carers and foster good links between home and school under the guidance of class teachers.
- Support class teachers with educational visits including taking responsibility for the care, welfare and learning of individuals and small groups of children.
- If applicable - support with translation as required
- Establish positive working relationships with students.
Learning and Teaching:
- Demonstrate an informed and efficient approach to teaching and learning by adopting relevant strategies to support the work of the teacher and increase the achievement of all pupils, including, where appropriate, those with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Promote, support, and facilitate inclusion by encouraging the participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
- Use effective behavior management strategies consistently in line with the school’s policy and procedures.
- Support class teachers in maintaining good order and discipline among pupils, managing behavior effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
- Organize and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment.
- Observe pupil performance and provide feedback to students, class teacher, and learning support teacher (as appropriate).
- Supervise a class if the teacher is temporarily unavailable.
- Undertake any other relevant duties given by the class teacher - Slovak Studies (for Slovak speakers).
- Teach the Slovak Studies program with support from teachers.
- Develop the Slovak Studies Curriculum as necessary with the support of the teachers.
- Use local knowledge to enhance the provision of Slovak Studies where appropriate.
- Give feedback to teachers on how the program is being received by students.
Planning and Preparation:
- Prepare and complete group interventions and track pupil progress in accordance with the Learning Support Policy, completing paperwork as required.
- Lead after-school Enrichment activities as required.
- Participate in year group planning meetings when necessary.
- Participate in weekly meetings as required.
Professional and Personal Development:
- Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality, conduct, and attendance.
- Uphold statutory responsibilities and Company policies with regard to Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, and other relevant legislation.
- Have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.
- Be familiar with the Primary School’s Behavior Policy and Playtime Policy.
- Undertake appropriate child protection training when required.
- Undertake regular appraisal as part of the school’s performance management appraisal system.
- Manage own personal and professional development.
- Understand professional responsibilities in relation to school policies and procedures and practices.
Required Skills/Abilities

• 2 years experience in the similar position
• Experience from international companies is an advantage
• Very good knowledge of English (verbal and written) is a must
• Strong internal and external customer service focus
• Excellent communication and customer care skills
• Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
• Versatile person, adaptable to changes, strong drive and determination to succeed
