We’re looking to recruit a Elementary/Primary Mandarin Teacher to join our Dalian American International School, a Nord Anglia Education school.

THE SCHOOL

DAIS is an American international school in the Golden Pebble Beach National Resort, in Jinzhou New District, Dalian, China, about 60 kilometres east of the centre of Dalian. 

Founded in 2006, DAIS has provided every student with an opportunity to achieve personal excellence and to contribute to the global community. It serves students of approximately 30 nationalities in Pre-K through 12th grade. 

The language of instruction is English for all classes with the exception of proficiency levelled Mandarin classes.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a full-time Elementary/Primary Mandarin Teacher to join our Mandarin Department. This position offers an exciting opportunity to teach Mandarin within the Common Core curriculum at the elementary level on a fixed-term contract.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective Mandarin lessons aligned with the Common Core curriculum for elementary students.
- Develop lesson plans, assessments, and learning materials tailored to student needs.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages language acquisition and cultural appreciation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and school initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Chinese Language, or related field (minimum requirement).
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in an elementary or primary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the Common Core curriculum standards as they relate to language instruction.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
- Ability to create dynamic lesson plans that engage young learners.
