We’re looking to recruit a Head of Music-International Track to join our Dalian American International School, a Nord Anglia Education school.

 

THE SCHOOL

DAIS is an American international school in the Golden Pebble Beach National Resort, in Jinzhou New District, Dalian, China, about 60 kilometres east of the centre of Dalian. 

Founded in 2006, DAIS has provided every student with an opportunity to achieve personal excellence and to contribute to the global community. It serves students of approximately 30 nationalities in Pre-K through 12th grade. 

The language of instruction is English for all classes with the exception of proficiency levelled Mandarin classes.

 

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Music for our International Track.

Job Overview: 
The Head of Music will lead the development and delivery of an engaging, comprehensive music program aligned with our international curriculum. This role requires a passionate educator who can inspire students, support faculty, and contribute to the overall growth of the school’s arts department.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Music or related field (minimum requirement) 
- At least 3 years teaching experience in music education at the secondary/high school level 
- Strong knowledge of international music curricula and assessment standards 
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing or coordinating teams preferred 
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, parents, and staff effectively 
- Ability to design innovative lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles 
- Proficiency with musical instruments, technology integration in music education, and performance direction
