Location: Dalian American International School

We’re looking to recruit a Head of Science to join our Dalian American International School, a Nord Anglia Education school.

THE SCHOOL

DAIS is an American international school in the Golden Pebble Beach National Resort, in Jinzhou New District, Dalian, China, about 60 kilometres east of the centre of Dalian. 

Founded in 2006, DAIS has provided every student with an opportunity to achieve personal excellence and to contribute to the global community. It serves students of approximately 30 nationalities in Pre-K through 12th grade. 

The language of instruction is English for all classes with the exception of proficiency levelled Mandarin classes.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Science to lead our Science Department at the high/secondary school level. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of the AP Science curriculum, supporting faculty, and fostering a stimulating learning environment that promotes scientific inquiry and critical thinking.

Curriculum: Advanced Placement (AP) 
Education Stage: Secondary School 

Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field (Master’s degree preferred) 
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in secondary/high school science 
- Experience with Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum is highly desirable 
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team of teachers 
- Excellent communication and organizational skills 
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans that meet diverse student needs 
- Proficient in using technology as an educational tool
