Job Purpose

 

The AV Technician is responsible for the setup, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot audio, video, lighting, and conferencing equipment. This role supports internal and external events, meetings, presentations, and live or virtual productions to ensure high-quality AV experiences.

About the role

 

As an AV Technician, you will work hands-on with audio, video, and lighting equipment to support live events, hybrid meetings, and digital broadcasts. You’ll be involved in the full lifecycle of AV projects — from preparing and installing equipment to operating it during events and ensuring everything is properly stored or maintained afterwards.
You’ll collaborate with event coordinators, IT teams, and production staff to deliver flawless technical support. Your daily tasks might include configuring sound systems, setting up projectors and displays, managing video conferencing platforms, and troubleshooting connectivity or performance issues under pressure.

Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with staff and students. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for Qatar, including candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in or equivalent.

 

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • Industry certifications (e.g., CTS, Dante, Extron, Crestron)
  • Experience in corporate, educational, or live event settings
  • Familiarity with streaming software (OBS, Wirecast, vMix)
  • Proven experience as an AV Technician or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of AV systems, signal flow, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with audio mixers, digital soundboards, video switchers, and lighting control
  • Experience with video conferencing systems and remote meeting technology
