Secondary Arabic Teacher

Nord Anglia Education is looking to recruit a Secondary Arabic Teacher to join Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar.
Etqan Global Academy (EGA) is a newly established IB World School in Doha, Qatar, offering the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). We are looking for an experienced Secondary Arabic Teacher to join our team, delivering a bespoke curriculum and preparing students for external examinations at IGCSE level and beyond, including the IB Diploma Programme.
The role:
We seek an individual to join as Secondary Arabic Teacher where your focus will be:
- Delivering a bespoke curriculum, preparing students for external examinations at IGCSE level and beyond, including the IB Diploma Programme
- Creating a learning culture where students are supported, challenged and inspired to be the best they can be
- Actively developing language, literacy and communication fluency within lessons, alongside subject content
- Mapping out pathways for all students to progress in Arabic, creating opportunities for success based on individualised targets
- Teaching Arabic as a Second Language at IGCSE level and beyond, including post-16 and IB Diploma level
- Seeking out opportunities for visits and visitors to enrich learning, and contributing to the ECA programme after school
- Being an active member of the school community, embracing events involving other stakeholders
- Sharing best practice with colleagues and acting as a strong ambassador for the school and the subject
The Successful Candidate will possess:
- University degree or Higher Diploma in Arabic
- Experience teaching within an International School
- Experience of teaching Arabic at post-16 and at IB Diploma level
- Experience of teaching Arabic as a Second Language at IGCSE level or equivalent
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree and a teaching qualification from a face-to-face (non-online) course, to meet Qatar visa requirements
- Master's degree, or evidence of further professional development (desirable)
- Values-led approach with strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity and a positive, can-do attitude
