MYP Science / DP Chemistry Teacher (1-Year Fixed-Term Contract)

At Nord Anglia International School Dublin, we’re seeking a passionate and experienced Science educator to join our high-performing team. This is a unique opportunity to teach across our MYP Science and DP Chemistry programmes, with the potential to take on Head of Department (HoD) responsibilities for the 2025–26 academic year.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will teach MYP Science across multiple grades and DP Chemistry to senior students, designing engaging and inquiry-led learning experiences. For the right candidate, additional responsibility as Head of Science will include academic leadership of the department, curriculum development, and mentoring colleagues.
Your responsibilities will include:

Delivering high-quality MYP Science and DP Chemistry lessons that inspire students.

Supporting student progress through meaningful assessment and feedback.

Contributing to collaborative planning and cross-curricular initiatives.

Participating fully in school life, including co-curricular activities and events.

(If appointed as HoD) Leading departmental strategy, ensuring excellent teaching and learning across the Sciences, and supporting departmental staff development.
ABOUT YOU
You are a reflective, enthusiastic educator who thrives in an international, student-centred environment. You bring strong subject knowledge, a love of Science, and the confidence to lead or grow into a leadership role.
Essential:
-
A university degree and a teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, B.Ed).

Experience teaching Science at the secondary level.

Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry.

Familiarity with or interest in the International Baccalaureate (IB) MYP and DP.
Desirable:

Prior experience teaching DP Chemistry.

Experience in middle or senior leadership roles.
-
Experience in international or bilingual settings.
You will also be an excellent communicator, a collaborative colleague, and committed to the wider school community. A good sense of humour and openness to innovation are key!
