ROLE OVERVIEW

At Nord Anglia International School Dublin, the first and only IB continuum school in Ireland, we’re looking for a talented Science Laboratory Technician to support our dynamic science department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this key support role, you’ll assist our Science teaching staff and students by ensuring labs run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. From maintaining laboratory equipment and preparing materials for experiments to ensuring health and safety protocols are met, your role will be integral to our students’ learning experience.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and maintaining equipment and chemicals for science lessons and demonstrations.

  • Managing stock levels and placing orders for science materials.

  • Ensuring all lab spaces meet health and safety standards, including risk assessments.

  • Supporting teachers and students during practical work, especially for IB internal assessments and extended essays.

  • Assisting with the care of living specimens and long-term biology experiments.

  • Participating in department and health & safety meetings, and occasionally invigilating exams.

  • Acting as a trained first aider and supporting with medical needs training.

ABOUT YOU

You’ll be someone who thrives in a collaborative, international environment. You bring experience in science labs and strong organisational skills, along with a passion for supporting education.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A qualification in Laboratory or Scientific disciplines.

  • Prior experience in a school or lab setting.

  • Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and regulations.

  • Excellent IT and communication skills.

  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with attention to detail.

  • A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to work.

Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum is desirable but not essential.
