Nord Anglia International School, Dublin, is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Supply Learning Support Assistant (Special Needs Assistant) to join our team on an on-call basis. This role involves stepping in to provide vital support for students with additional needs or to provide valuable assistance to the class teacher during staff absences, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment. The Role:
As a Supply Learning Support Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting students' individual needs and helping them thrive as well as supporting the class teacher. Your responsibilities include:
- Providing Individualized Support: Assisting students with additional needs, both in the classroom and during other school activities, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully.
- Encouraging Independence: Supporting students in developing their confidence and independence in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Collaborating with Staff: Working closely with teachers and the wider support team to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and strategies tailored to each student’s needs.
- Maintaining Continuity: Adapting quickly to various classroom settings and routines, ensuring students receive consistent care and support during staff absences.
- Fostering Inclusion: Promoting a culture of inclusion and respect, encouraging positive interactions between students with additional needs and their peers.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
- Experience working with students with additional needs, ideally in an educational setting.
- A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students.
- Flexibility and adaptability to step into different roles and settings on short notice.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
