Short Description

We are looking for a passionate and experienced CBSE ICT Teacher to teach Information and Communication Technology (ICT)/Computer Science to students from Grades 6 to 10.

The candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, student-centred lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum, developing students’ digital literacy and computational thinking skills, and encouraging them to apply technology to real-world problems.

Oakridge Gachibowli follows CBSE alongside the IB curriculum in the Middle Years, with an emphasis on practical learning, enquiry, problem-solving, research, and interdisciplinary learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging ICT/Computer Science lessons for Grades 6–10 in alignment with the CBSE curriculum.
  • Develop students’ understanding of computer fundamentals, digital literacy, programming, computational thinking, networking, databases, web technologies, and cyber safety as relevant to the curriculum.
  • Conduct practical and hands-on sessions in computer labs.
  • Design projects, activities, assignments, and assessments that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and application of technology.
  • Integrate technology effectively into classroom teaching and learning.
  • Encourage students to explore emerging technologies and develop responsible digital citizenship.
  • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, lesson plans, and academic documentation.
  • Differentiate instruction to address varied learning abilities and learning needs.
  • Support students in developing research, collaboration, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Organise ICT-related projects, competitions, exhibitions, clubs, and enrichment activities.
  • Support interdisciplinary and project-based learning initiatives across the school.
  • Stay updated with CBSE curriculum changes, educational technology, and emerging trends in ICT.
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and productive computer-lab environment.
  • Ensure responsible use of digital resources and promote awareness of cyber ethics, online safety, privacy, and responsible technology use.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, coordinators, and other stakeholders to support student development.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development programmes, school events, and other academic activities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and academic development.
  • Contribute to the wider school community and uphold Oakridge’s academic and professional standards.

Job Description

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, ICT, or a related field.
  • B.Ed. is mandatory/preferred, depending on the candidate’s qualification pathway.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience, preferably with CBSE students in Grades 6–10.
  • Strong understanding of the CBSE ICT/Computer Science curriculum.
  • Hands-on experience with programming and computer applications.
  • Strong classroom-management and student-engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to design engaging, technology-enabled and practical learning experiences.
  • Experience with project-based and inquiry-based learning will be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with digital learning platforms, smart classrooms, and educational technology.
  • Experience in an international school or exposure to IB/MYP pedagogy would be an added advantage.
