MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Fine Art Teacher. The primary purpose of the Art Teacher position in the extracurricular program is to enrich students' educational experience by providing engaging and hands-on art activities outside of regular school hours, starting from 16:00 with flexibility on the days. 
Through a variety of artistic options such as acrylic painting, sculpture, watercolour painting, and art & craft, the Art Teacher fosters creativity, self-expression, and artistic skill development among primary and secondary school students. The role aims to inspire a lifelong appreciation for the arts while offering a safe and supportive environment for students to explore their artistic talents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach acrylic painting to students in grades 6-12.
  • Conduct Art & Craft sessions for students in grades 1-3.
  • Instruct sculpture classes for students in grades 6-12.
  • Lead watercolour painting sessions for students in grades 6-12.
  • Develop and propose additional art activities to enrich the extracurricular program.
  • Manage the organisation and maintenance of art materials and equipment.
  • Take attendance and handle logistical aspects of each activity.

  • Supervise students during art sessions to ensure safety and proper conduct.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate art activities with the school curriculum when applicable.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Fine Arts, or related field (teaching certification preferred).
  • Previous experience teaching visual art to students at the primary and/or secondary levels.
  • Passionate about art education and fostering creativity in students.
  • Organised and responsible, able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds and ages.
  • Proficiency in English or French; bilingualism preferred.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices in art instruction.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

You understand and embrace the importance of diversity and inclusion and stand against discrimination in any form.
