Job Description

The Head of Performing Arts will lead the strategic vision, development, and delivery of a dynamic and high-quality Performing Arts program across the Elementary and Secondary divisions. This role ensures academic excellence in Music, Drama, and related disciplines through a forward-thinking curriculum, inspiring leadership, and a robust extracurricular offering that reflects the school’s commitment to holistic education.

The successful candidate will be an experienced, creative, and collaborative leader, capable of fostering a culture of artistic excellence, innovation, and inclusion. They will work closely with school leadership and faculty to ensure that the Performing Arts program aligns with MET’s mission, the IB framework, and the values of Nord Anglia Education.

 

Reports to:  Elementary and Secondary Principals

Key Team:  Head of School, Director of Admission and Marketing (DAM), Director of Finance and Operations (DFO), Human Resources Director (HRD)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Performing Arts Faculty across the school.
  • Develop and implement an innovative and inclusive curriculum.
  • Monitor teaching standards and ensure continual improvement.
  • Design and support extracurricular and enrichment programs.
  • Oversee internal assessments and external exam preparation.
  • Lead departmental planning, budget management, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and curriculum regulations.
  • Inspire, support, and evaluate faculty staff performance and development.
  • Facilitate cross-divisional collaboration and community outreach.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Performing Arts or related field.
  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting.
  • Strong curriculum design and assessment expertise.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of international school environments and inclusive practices.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and academic achievement.
  • Fluency in English (oral and written); other languages are a plus.
  • Passion for education, innovation, and the performing arts.
