Job Description

General Purpose

The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of information technology within the school, under the guidance of the Regional IT Director.
This role involves close collaboration with the school’s Leadership Team (LT) and the Regional IT Team to implement the school's strategic technology vision.
The IT Manager supports the planning, development, and execution of IT strategies and solutions to effectively serve students, staff, and the school’s technology infrastructure.

Reporting to:  Director of Finance and Operation, IT Central Office

Other Key Relationships:  Leadership Team, School staff, service providers and maintenance suppliers, infrastructure support providers, and external providers 

Key Responsiblities

  • Provide timely and effective technical support to staff and students across the school.
  • Resolve operational IT issues efficiently and deliver user training and technical guidance as needed.
  • Lead root cause analysis to identify and resolve recurring problems, reducing system downtime.
  • Collaborate with vendors and partners to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Oversee the fulfillment of standard IT service requests, ensuring consistent communication and service quality.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure operational consistency and continuous improvement.
  • Manage operational service transitions, including validation, documentation, communication, training, and support planning.
  • Support audits and compliance initiatives with a focus on user access controls and accurate IT records.
  • Administer IT asset distribution and maintain an up-to-date inventory across the school.
  • Ensure adherence to IT policies and promote awareness of cybersecurity and best practices.
  • Plan, monitor, and manage the IT budget, including both operational (OPEX) and capital (CAPEX) expenditures.
  • Lead and supervise the IT department, ensuring high standards of service delivery and team performance.

Required Skills/Abilities

Qualifications & Training

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Relevant professional certifications in IT systems, infrastructure, or similar areas are a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical support and IT service delivery roles.

  • Strong understanding of IT service management and support processes.

  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of IT policies and standard operating procedures.

  • Proven experience managing a service desk operation.

  • Familiarity with industry best practices and professional standards.

Skills

  • Solid knowledge of service desk operations and related tools.

  • Strong bilingual Spanish & English skills, verbal and written.  
  • Basic project management experience, with the ability to manage tasks and timelines effectively.

  • Knowledge of windows, apple desktop administration, Microsoft Office suite, audiovisual solutions and IT security.
