Job Description

The PYP Teacher plays a vital role in fostering a stimulating, inclusive, and inquiry-driven learning environment aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). This educator is responsible for designing and implementing high-quality, concept-based lessons that meet the diverse needs of students, while nurturing curiosity, creativity, and international-mindedness. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of inquiry-based teaching, effective differentiation strategies, and strong collaboration within a professional learning community.

This role is central to our mission of cultivating well-rounded, reflective, and confident learners who thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, plan and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons in line with IB PYP framework and school curriculum expectations.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes inquiry, collaboration, and risk-taking.

  • Monitor and assess student progress using formative and summative tools to inform teaching and support student success.

  • Collaborate regularly with grade-level teams, curriculum coordinators (PYP, EAL, SEN, etc.), and specialists to ensure cohesive teaching and learning experiences.

  • Maintain consistent, proactive communication with parents and guardians about student progress and well-being.

  • Effectively differentiate instruction to support all learners, including English language learners and students with diverse learning needs.

  • Participate in school community life, including student-led conferences, assemblies, evening events, and professional development.

  • Use technology meaningfully to support and enhance learning experiences.

  • Maintain accurate records of student learning and contribute to reporting as required.

  • Implement school policies and uphold the IB Learner Profile and international mindedness in daily practices.
