PRINCIPAL, BRITISH VIETNAMESE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL HANOI
British Vietnamese International School Hanoi offers an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished international school leader to lead a thriving all-through school renowned for its bilingual education, strong student outcomes, and commitment to developing globally minded learners.
THE SCHOOL
Opened in 2013, the British Vietnamese International School, Hanoi is now one of the top international schools in Vietnam. We offer an outstanding private education in a unique bilingual environment. Our world-class teachers, award-winning wellbeing support, and truly personalised learning experiences prepare students to take on the world, ensuring they achieve remarkable academic success and become a confident global citizen. We are proud to offer a unique and high-quality international education that builds strong bilingual proficiency and deeply values the cultural heritage of Vietnam, something that is fully integrated into our mission. Accordingly, our school has a strong reputation in the city.
This ‘Best of Both Worlds’ is achieved through a unique curriculum in the EYFS and Primary that is taught 50% in English and 50% in Vietnamese. The curriculum is a carefully planned blend of the National Curriculum for England and the Vietnamese National Curriculum. Once true bilingualism is achieved at the end of primary education the balance moves towards a greater proportion of teaching in English, so that the students are fully prepared for IGCSE and A Level examinations.
The school recently celebrated another outstanding year of achievement with 47% of A-Level grades at A*-A and 74% at A*-B. Students received 195 university offers from 131 universities across 12 countries, including offers from University College London (UCL), King’s College London, University of Toronto, University of British Columbia and University of Melbourne. To nurture creative learning and our students’ love of the creative arts, we have a 300+ seat theatre, dance studio, and incredible performing arts centre in collaboration with Juilliard. For students who have a passion for sports, the school has 2 indoor sports halls, outdoor field space and a heated 25m pool.
As well as being a member of the prestigious Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA), we’re also proud to be accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
