The Finance Coordinator role will support the school’s Finance Office by coordinating and administering the financial records, systems and processes, including accounting, and all related financial and office administration, and to provide strong financial guidance to the school operation.

Job Description

  • Finance Operations
    • Develop highly effective finance systems and internal control mechanisms
    • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements
    • Participate in financial forecasts and budgets
    • Participate in monthly variance explanations for budgets, forecast, and audits
      • Ensure finance procedures and processes are carried out efficiently per NAE and School policies and procedures
      • Prepare general financial analysis and other finance related tasks

  • Internal Reporting
    • Produce monthly management accounts as per prescribed timetable and of excellent quality
    • Produce reports on pupil numbers, staffing and other KPIs as requested
    • Provide financial information to Managing Director and Leadership team to aid management of the school budget
  • External Reporting
    • Ensure accounting records maintained that meet statutory requirements and ensure school passes its annual audits
    • Produce all financial reports as required for external auditing, tax and other external bodies

  • Other Finance
    • Ensure efficient school fee collection and follow up effectively with any outstanding debtors
    • Reconcile all student systems –NAV BC, iSams, and Salesforce for up-to-date accuracy
    • Develop, reconcile and post-mortem all ancillary operations including trips
    • Assist with annual re-enrollment and enrollment contracts
    • Provide backup details as needed in any accounting function
    • Any other duties as assigned
  • Personal Development
    • Ensure continual development through the identification and implementation of your own Personal Development Plan

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Accountancy qualification
  • Proven track record with at least five years in a business finance function
  • Experience producing budgets and management reports in an accurate timely manner
  • Excellent business application skills (Excel) spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and familiarity / experience using financial software
  • Organized and meets deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver against agreed service levels and targets
  • High level of interpersonal skills with all levels of organization
  • High level of technical accountancy and finance skills
  • Good data analysis and presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen
