Position Summary / Job Goals:
To deliver high-quality early childhood instruction that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of Pre-K 4 students. To create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where young learners build foundational skills through exploration, play, and structured learning experiences. The role contributes to the school’s vision by fostering curiosity, independence, and a love of learning, while ensuring students are supported in reaching developmental milestones and maintaining accurate records of their progress.
Qualifications / Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Valid teaching certification or equivalent professional training.
- Completion of a student teaching program or formal educator preparation program.
- Training in early childhood instructional practices and child development.
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning and development.
Experience / Knowledge:
- Experience teaching in an early childhood or lower school setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development, including social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Ability to design and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons that build foundational literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
- Experience using formative assessment strategies to monitor progress and guide instruction.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Proficiency in maintaining student records and communicating progress effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills when working with students, colleagues, and families.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Create a positive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment that supports student learning and wellbeing.
- Deliver engaging lessons aligned to the early childhood curriculum, incorporating play-based and inquiry-based learning approaches.
- Support the emotional, social, and behavioral development of students through consistent routines and positive reinforcement.
- Plan and implement coherent sequences of lessons that build foundational skills and promote independence.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and differentiated approaches to meet the needs of all learners.
- Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments and maintain accurate records of development and achievement.
- Provide regular, clear communication with parents regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Early Childhood division to support student learning and share best practices.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Actively contribute to a positive school culture and serve as a role model within the school community.
