Position Summary / Job Goals:
A Residential Assistant’s (RA) duty is to manage the daily lives of students in the Residential Program. They will provide structure, guidance, discipline and understanding.
Qualifications / Training:
Bachelor’s (or working toward) degree preferred
Experience / Knowledge:
Experience working with youth groups, teaching, summer camps, as a Residential Assistant in college or in a dorm setting are required.

Reports to / Evaluated by:
- Shift Supervisor (for daily shifts)
- Year Group Leader (for Performance Management)
- Director of Residential Life (overall)
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Coordinate with the Shift Supervisor at the start and end of each shift to receive assignments and complete required reports.
- Supervise students’ daily routines, including wake-up, meals, study time, activities, and curfew, ensuring safety, structure, and accountability.
- Maintain accurate student accountability, including tracking attendance, after-school activities, and signing students in and out using Boardingware.
- Conduct regular patrols of residence halls and campus facilities to monitor student behavior and ensure a safe environment.
- Address behavioral concerns promptly, apply appropriate consequences, and document incidents in accordance with school procedures.
- Complete timely reports, including behavioral and medical updates, and escalate concerns to Residential Life leadership as needed.
- Supervise study sessions and support student academic progress in coordination with faculty and Year Group Leaders.
- Administer medications as directed by the school nurse and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and Residential Life leadership regarding student well-being and program updates.
- Supervise students during meals and ensure appropriate behavior and cleanliness in shared spaces.
- Conduct room checks and ensure residence halls and common areas are clean, safe, and orderly.
- Ensure students follow school dress code expectations.
- Monitor student health and respond appropriately to incidents or emergencies.
- Greet visitors and verify identification and permissions for student sign-out.
- Attend required meetings, training sessions, and Residential Life programming.
- Support and supervise student activities, events, and trips, including evenings, weekends, and school breaks.
- Transport students as needed in accordance with school policies.
