Teaching Assistant Y6

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teaching Assistant to inspire, challenge and support our youngest students in our purpose-built school. With proven organizational and inter-personnel skills and a love for working with children, you will be an excellent communicator who gets on well with colleagues, students, and parents within an international and multi-cultural setting. Your role is to support and develop the learning and well-being of all children

Roles and Responsibilities

In fulfilling the requirements of the post, the successful candidate will demonstrate essential professional characteristics, and in general will:

  • deliver tailored teaching activities to students on either a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
  • make sure that the pupils you support are able to engage in learning and stay on task during the lesson or activity.
  • support the social and emotional development of students, reporting any issues when required.
  • support the teacher in managing challenging pupil behavior and promoting positive behavior.
  • listen to students read and read to pupils as a class, group or one-to-one.
  • guide and monitor pupil progress.
  • help with the planning of some lessons
  • provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on students’ progress.
  • carry out administrative duties, such as preparing classroom resources.
  • duty responsibilities: supervision of students during indoor and outdoor break times.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • DFPS background check which we will provide.
  • 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Previous experience working in an early childhood setting.
  • Able to provide two professional references.
