Job Purpose

To deliver engaging, rigorous, and concept-driven Accountancy instruction to Senior Secondary students, developing strong financial and analytical skills while preparing students for board examinations, competitive examinations, higher education, and future careers in commerce and finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Accountancy lessons for Grades 11 and 12.
  • Develop students' conceptual understanding of financial accounting, partnership accounts, company accounts, and related topics.
  • Prepare students effectively for board examinations and other relevant assessments.
  • Design engaging lessons using inquiry-based, experiential, and student-centred teaching approaches.
  • Explain accounting principles, concepts, and numerical problems clearly and effectively.
  • Develop lesson plans, assessments, worksheets, question papers, case studies, and other learning resources.
  • Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Identify learning gaps and provide appropriate academic support and intervention.
  • Integrate technology, accounting software, spreadsheets, and digital resources to enhance Accountancy learning.
  • Encourage students to develop analytical, numerical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and academic progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, coordinators, and parents to support student development.
  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, professional development programmes, school events, and other academic responsibilities.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Commerce, Accountancy, or a relevant subject from a recognised university.
  • B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge with a clear understanding of Senior Secondary Accountancy curriculum.
  • Relevant teaching experience at Grades 11–12 level.
  • Experience with CBSE, IGCSE, IB, or other international curricula will be an advantage.
