Job Purpose

Oakridge International School, Bachupally is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, interactive and student-centred English lessons that develop students' language proficiency, communication skills, critical thinking, creativity and appreciation of literature.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Develop students' skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening and critical analysis.
  • Teach language, grammar, vocabulary, literature and composition as appropriate to the grade level.
  • Create engaging activities, discussions, projects and learning experiences that encourage students to express themselves confidently.
  • Develop students' understanding and appreciation of diverse literary works, authors and perspectives.
  • Promote critical thinking, creativity, communication and independent learning.
  • Differentiate teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and provide constructive feedback.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.
  • Create and use appropriate teaching resources, including digital and multimedia resources.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary learning and school activities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues regarding student progress.
  • Participate in school events, professional development programmes and wider school initiatives.
  • Encourage students to develop confidence, curiosity and a lifelong interest in language and literature.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in English / English Literature / Linguistics or a related discipline.
  • B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English language and literature.
  • Experience with IB, IGCSE, Cambridge or CBSE curriculum will be an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant school teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience teaching English at the relevant grade level.
  • International curriculum teaching experience will be an advantage.
