Job Purpose:
To ensure students develop strong English language skills while promoting critical thinking, communication, autonomy, and academic excellence. The teacher delivers engaging lessons in a safe, inclusive, and student-centered environment, aligned with SEP and IB educational frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality English language instruction aligned with the school curriculum and IB MYP framework.
- Foster reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through inquiry-based and meaningful learning experiences.
- Create a bilingual learning environment that encourages English usage inside and outside the classroom.
- Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and provide timely feedback.
- Differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs and support student success.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leaders while participating in curriculum planning, professional development, and school events.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, English Language Teaching, Education, Literature, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Advanced English proficiency (B2/C1 CEFR minimum) supported by an international certification such as IELTS, TOEFL iBT, CPE, or equivalent.
- Teaching certification or educational qualification.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience at the Middle School/Secondary level.
- Experience teaching English Language Arts or English as a Second/Foreign Language.
- Experience using educational technology, active learning methodologies, and student assessment practices.
- Experience with IB programmes or international schools is desirable.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong command of English language instruction and language acquisition methodologies.
- Knowledge of adolescent cognitive, emotional, and social development.
- Expertise in formative and summative assessment strategies.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners.
