Job Purpose

This position will lead development functions in The Americas Region.  Supporting Group Corporate Development inquisitive school acquisition growth strategy and managing effective integration, as well as leading current school related real estate transactions to build enrollment capacity where significant enrollment demand is present. 
The role would lead a team that includes Integrations Manger, supporting The Americas Regions functional team’s integration plans of newly acquired schools, and Real Estate Project Manager delivering campus real estate development projects.
 

Job Description

Corporate Development- Mergers, Acquisitions and Integrations 

  • Work with Group Corporate Development team to deliver school acquisition strategy
  • Work closely with Group Corporate Development team to support regional functional leads coordination of Due Diligence pre-acquisition
  • Ensure all key elements of due diligence are included in the integration and remediation plans and adequate measures are in place and have been validated by regions and Group.
  • Lead the production and delivery of the integration plans together with Group Head of Transaction Delivery and Integration, Group Head of Corporate Development and Head of LATAM / USA. Participate in formulation and delivery of integration strategy, including value creation goals, targets, and timelines.
  • Manage Regional Integration Manager and engage Functional Leads to ensure seamless transition from acquisition to integration


Real Estate Project Leadership

  • Utilize operational data analytics to continually review capacity constraints and local supply/demand dynamics in The Americas Region to drive strategic deployment of capital prioritizing high demand low capacity opportunities.
  • Design, develop and lead the review, approval and implementation of real estate strategy in coordination with Regional Managing Director, Head of LATAM. Regional Finance Director and Regional Legal Counsel with support and direction of Group Corporate Development & Real Estate teams.
  • Manage Regional Real Estate Project Manager delivery of approved projects
  • Coordinate with school-based teams on strategic opportunities and project delivery. Ensuring the operational needs of the school are being considered during the build including the Health & Safety, Security requirements,
  • Safeguarding and Child Protection
  • Coordinate and manage third party developers, legal and construction management
  • Identify resources needed, assign individual responsibilities and accountabilities and proactively manage performance
  • Proactively identify key risk areas for the projects and actively seeks to mitigate this 
  • Establishes rigorous project governance and reporting structures across projects.
     

Financial Management

  • Responsible for budget ownership of agreed CAPEX
  • Actively leads the delivery of project plans to ensure all business and financial benefits are realized by Nord Anglia Education
  • Accurately forecasts project costs on a regular basis.
  • Accountable for any issues related to costs within the project lifecycle
  • Ensure rigorous process in place with supplier/contractor to ensure best price achieved at required quality.
  • Ensure best negotiation on payment terms and managing the cash flow of the project


Communication

  • Responsible for ensuring all project governance processes are adhered to.
  • Updating the Group Corporate Development Team on a bi-weekly basis on progress and solutions to resolve any issues.
  • Maintaining and communicating the project plan to all relevant stakeholders.

 

And any other appropriate duties as allocated by Managing Director for Americas

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management , corporate development or related field.
  • 10+ years of land entitlement and project management experience within corporate development and CAPEX investments
  • Proficient in project management tools and software, 
  • Must be able to read zoning ordinances, civil plans, and architectural drawings.
  • Excellent organization, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced/entrepreneurial environment
  • Highly organized and proactive
  • Experience in acquisitions and real estate corporate development.
  • Good network within USA and Americas
  • Bilingual English / Spanish (preferred Portuguese)
