SENIOR REGIONAL BUSINESS PARTNER - CENTRAL AMERICA (MEXICO)

 

JOB PURPOSE
Support HR performance and regional priorities across schools in Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic.
Promote alignment with the Americas vision while maintaining each school’s unique culture.
Ensure operational excellence, risk/legal compliance, efficient processes, and quality reporting.
Act as a key link between NAE, the region, and schools.
Ensure all NAE approvals and processes are followed.
Travel: 25%–40%, nationally and internationally.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Organisational Development and Planning

  • Deliver regional HR strategy in partnership with the Americas team.

  • Strengthen back-office processes and mitigate risk.

  • Support HR Directors to build capability and deliver results.

  • Guide HR Managers on projects and special initiatives.

  • Support integrating schools and those needing HR performance improvement.

  • Ensure policies align with Group standards and local laws.

  • Drive employee engagement via local leadership and survey results.

  • Promote EmpowerUs and CRUSHING IT values.

Administration, Compliance and Reporting

  • Monitor adherence to NAE/school policies and legal standards.

  • Oversee accurate payroll processing and approval protocols.

  • Review and approve/reject terminations and severances per authority levels.

  • Approve background check exceptions for non-driving roles only.

  • Track litigation and severance costs.

  • Ensure accurate, timely HRIS/payroll data and resolve data issues swiftly.

Process Oversight

  • Support HR teams with annual operational planning and processes.

  • Encourage collaboration between HR, Finance, and MAC.

Employee Relations

  • Promote healthy employee relations and communication.

  • Ensure policies reflect legal requirements and Group standards.

  • Support or lead investigations where needed.

  • Act as escalation point for employee issues.

  • Recommend actions in senior cases with Americas HR Director.

  • Coach HR leaders in effective, cost-conscious practices.

  • Approve terminations aligned with policy to minimise risk.

  • Coordinate consistent ER practices with schools and legal counsel.

  • Manage external legal services; aim for unified providers per location.

Integrations

  • Support new school integration through engagement and alignment.

  • Collaborate with integration and data teams for smooth onboarding.

  • Resolve challenges quickly with sustainable solutions.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or similar field.

  • 8+ years in progressive HR roles, including 3+ years in matrix/multi-country settings (education, consulting, healthcare, etc.).

  • Native Spanish and fluent in business English.

  • Willing to travel frequently in the region and to Miami (30%–40%).

Experience and Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of Mexican labour law.

  • Familiarity with other Central American markets a plus.

  • Shared services and matrix structure experience.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
