San Roberto International School is one of the top international schools in Monterrey, one of the most important cities in Mexico. We have two campuses; San Agustin and Valle Alto. It is a Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 9 private day school, teaching ages 3 to 15 bilingually in Spanish and English. The San Agustin campus school is located at west of San Pedro Garza García and Valle Alto campus school is located at south of Monterrey. 

 

MUSIC TEACHER  (Local)

 

JOB PURPOSE

Contribute, with the rest of the teachers and administrative area of ISR, to accomplish the educative mission, especially in the esthetics and artistic area 

 

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Teach the music academic classes assigned, and the activities related, for example the promotion of musical events, organization of the festival, design and be responsible of the didactic material used. Evaluate students according to each unit of the course.
  • Accomplish the academic program of the music area. Solve inquiries of the music area to students and parents.
  • Control the didactic material, and the musical instruments, evaluating the wearing away to request for maintenance or reposition.
  • Coordinate the activities of the symphonic band, as the extracurricular activities of the ISR. Collaborate with the department and coordination of events or activities that require musical support.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils. And the willingness to undertake appropriate child protection training when required.

 

ACTIVITIES

  • Make the annual inventory of resources, request for the necessary investment for the area, revise and modify the academic program, collaborate in festivals, selection and arrangement of music material.

  • Organize a December presentation for parents of programs seen up to date.

  • Inform about the development of the music program, compare the things done with the ones planned and apply the necessary adjustments. Make and register evaluations, and provide the necessary support in other academic areas (assemblies, events that  need musical support, etc.

  • Design, cover and give feedback of the events programmed for the week, prepare classes, didactical material and musical arrangements that need it. Request previously material and support required. 

  • Attend weekly coordination meetings (division meetings and data cycles/planning sessions) and professional development.

  • Teach the classes with quality and opportunity, inform the performance to coordination and continue with the correspondent program, manage and control the material lent.

  • Perform supervisory duties as assigned.
