Job Purpose: The Vocational Counselor supports students and their families in the transition to higher education by providing personalized academic and career guidance. The role promotes informed decision‑making through self‑knowledge, exploration of national and international university options, and clear understanding of admissions requirements, ensuring equitable access to resources and opportunities for a successful post‑secondary transition.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized vocational counseling to help students identify interests, strengths, and career goals.
  • Administer and interpret vocational and psychometric assessments.
  • Advise students on university and program selection, admissions requirements, and application timelines.
  • Guide students through standardized tests, documentation, scholarships, and financial aid processes.
  • Maintain regular communication with families regarding admissions progress and key dates.
  • Build and maintain relationships with national and international universities.
  • Organize university fairs, campus visits, workshops, and informational events.
  • Manage application platforms (e.g., Common App, UCAS) and track student progress.
  • Write recommendation letters and prepare institutional documentation.
  • Stay current on higher education and admissions trends.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Pedagogy, Education, Educational Counseling, or a related field.
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in vocational or academic counseling.
  • Experience organizing academic or university‑related events.
  • Strong active listening, empathy, and professional communication skills.
  • Knowledge of adolescent development and vocational guidance processes.
  • Familiarity with psychometric tools and university admissions systems.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
  • Leadership, group facilitation, and public speaking abilities.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality.
