Job Description

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Physical Education lessons aligned with the school curriculum.

  • Ensure effective classroom and sports environment management, maintaining high standards of student behaviour and engagement.

  • Assess, record and monitor student progress using appropriate assessment strategies.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with English as an Additional Language (EAL).

  • Set clear learning objectives and provide constructive feedback to support student development.

  • Contribute to extracurricular activities, sports events, school trips and wider school initiatives.

  • Prepare and present student reports in a professional and timely manner.

  • Support parental engagement by communicating students’ progress and next steps effectively.

  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities and training programmes.

  • Contribute positively to the school community and uphold safeguarding standards.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field with teaching qualification (e.g., QTS or equivalent).

  • Proven experience teaching PE in Primary years.

  • Strong curriculum knowledge and understanding of effective PE teaching strategies.

  • Ability to use assessment data to improve student outcomes.

  • Knowledge of EAL strategies to support non-native English speakers.

  • Strong classroom management skills.

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

  • High level of personal integrity and professionalism.

Desirable:

  • International teaching experience.

  • At least two years of teaching experience in PE.

  • Experience with IB or other international curriculum.
