Description
The role involves leading the department with a clear strategic vision, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, and fostering strong engagement with students, parents, and the wider school community. Responsibilities include monitoring pupil progress, supporting teachers, maintaining high academic and behavioural standards, and managing departmental resources effectively. The position also requires active participation in school events and a strong commitment to ongoing professional development through Nord Anglia University, global teacher collaboration, and relevant IB/CIE training. As a genuine team-player, you’ll work across our teams to promote the Mission, Vision, and the Values of the school. You will ensure that teaching and learning meets the expectations of the school. Required Skills/Abilities
Essential
- Initial degree in a related subject
- QTS status
- Detailed Knowledge of the Key Stage 3 curriculum, IGCSE Curriculum and IBD curriculums
- Good communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a very changeable environment and remain calm
Desirable
- Overseas experience
- Head of Department experience
- A track record of raising teaching and learning standards
