Job Description
We’re looking to recruit an Secondary Teacher's Assistant to join our team at The British College of Brazil school, a Nord Anglia Education school.
The Secondary Teacher Assistant supports teachers in delivering effective learning experiences by assisting with classroom activities, preparing learning materials, and helping maintain a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment. The role involves supporting individual students or small groups, encouraging student engagement and independence, and assisting with the implementation of learning activities aligned with the school’s curriculum.
The Teacher Assistant also helps maintain a positive classroom environment by supporting classroom management, monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers. Additional responsibilities include supervising students during breaks, school activities or short-term teacher absences, assisting with assessments when required, and ensuring compliance with school policies, including safeguarding, health and safety.
Required Skills/Abilities

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Pedagogy or a related field (preferred).

Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant educational training (desirable).

Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational environment (preferred).

Experience supporting secondary-aged students is desirable.

Experience in an international school environment is an advantage.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff.

Strong organisational and classroom support skills.

Ability to build positive relationships with students.
